jeff, don’t hate. I agree, the article didn’t tell me anything new, so that made me sad, but you can’t disregard the possibility that some people don’t know what happened. And it’s not just for people at MSJ; it’s for their parents and people who graduated and anyone else in the community too.
also, “just to get hits”? for what? yeah, we would like students to visit the site more often, but it’s not like we have any paid advertising up on the site. if we did, meaning we’d get more money if we had more hits, then your claim would have a stronger basis.
How do we know the guy responsible is feeling depressed? How do we know he’s not proud of it and bragging about it? If anything, there should be an explanation without names. We have a right to know. Newspapers post names about rapists and terrorists even though they may regret what they’ve done and feel singled out. I’m sick of rumors. News is news. It’s their job is to deliver the details.so i was in bio and i was talking to some j1 students, and they said they were going to run a story on the lockdown that happened today. they said that the parents and students have a right to know. good thing they reassured me that they would release any names…

personally i think they shouldn’t publish the story because smokesignal will just be singling this person out. making this person feel even more isolated. hopefully the editors feel the same way that i do.
errrrr noo, i dont think they should publish an article on the lockdown today. the guy who did it is already feeling depressed and isolated enough and the article will single him out in my opinion, and make him even more upset or depressed even without realeasing his name. there are other ways to talk about the lockdown and let the school know without publishing the article in smoke signal. thats just my two cents.
I don’t think they should release the names, but parents and students do deserve to know what actually happened though. We haven’t had a lockdown in a while, and all that circulates around is rumors. No names, I just want the facts.
It’s times like these when I wish us MSJHS.net guys figured out a policy on what exactly we want to do with our site.
Totally agree with Jen; news is news. Hate to say it, and sorry if it hurts this guy’s feelings, but in doing what he did, he made himself into a person of public interest. And when that happens, we, as a newspaper, have the right and responsibility to cover that, because the public has the right to know.
I don’t know if we’re actually going to do it or if we’ll release his name, but I think everyone in the community deserves to know the details of what happened.

1) funny people. love love love! i love a chill/lighthearted person or a good joke. i seriously tell all my friends jokes i like!
2) singing. its one of the best outlets in the world and good singers and bad singers are all wonderful :)
3) food cuz i love to eat my feelings hehe and whenever i’m watching a movie or tv etc i always need to eat something
4) when you have a really interesting conversation with someone. or learn something new about someone you never knew! it always makes my day better
5) ADRENALINE/adventurous stuff. i love driving fast in my car cept now i’m scared of getting a ticket or some crap :( and i hope one day i’ll learn how to surf, paintball and ride ATVs and motorcycles and whatnot!
Dislikes:
1) WHEN PEOPLE SHAKE THEIR LEG INCESSANTLY. if anyone sits next to me in class and shakes their leg i always have to slap it and tell them to stop i hate it hehe
2) when you do people favors a lot but when you try to ask them for a favor and they ignore your IMs -_-.. when i can CLEARLY see them talking on facebook. or if someone ignores your phone call and tries to text you later to say they didn’t hear your phone call when i SAW the phone in your hand from across the quad!! LOL
3) people who obsess over things/people that will never be attainable to them :’( I.E. justin lau and other fobby asian girls who dream about stars hahha <333
4) players! i agree with the line “dont hate the player hate the game” but all y’all need to calm down with the games!! quit playing games with peoples hearts. i dont even get how someone can play someone and not feel any guilt
5) GRADE-BEGGERS! there are so many at MSJ. just STFU and accept your 89 stop bugging your teachers about it and go QQ to your mom!!
